The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on Philips Highway and Gran Bay Parkway Saturday morning.

According to FHP, a 60-year-old driver in a sedan was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 1 in the center lane. The 22-year-old woman was driving westbound making a left turn from the State Road 9B exit ramp on U.S. Highway 1 in the left inside lane.

Another vehicle with a 19-year-old driver and 20-year-old passenger was also driving westbound making a left turn from State Road 9B exit ramp on U.S. Highway 1 in the center lane, according to FHP.

The 60-year-old driver hit the 22-year-old woman’s vehicle at the intersection while she was turning, FHP says.

The 22-year-old driver was taken to hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The 60-year-old driver sustained serious injuries, and the 19-year-old and 20-year-old in the other vehicle had minor injuries.
