Jacksonville hit-and-run victim speaks to Action News Jax from hospital bed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Jacksonville hit and run victim Jada Simpson, 22, spoke to Action News Jax Monday from her hospital bed.

On Friday, Action News Jax reported the Thursday night hit-and-run on Cesery Boulevard in Arlington.

“By the time I got in the middle of the street, I see how fast the cars was coming, I knew I couldn’t run,” said Simpson.

Family says Simpson is in ICU trauma recovery after surgery.

They say she suffered several injuries, including a liver laceration and broken leg.

A man who described himself as a witness told Action News Jax the driver of the SUV got out to check on their vehicle, before driving away from the scene.

The witness says Simpson was hit by a black SUV.

Action News Jax reached out to JSO by email asking about the status of the investigation and whether a suspect or suspect vehicle had been identified.

Snyder says no tips have come in, and police are seeking witnesses.
