Jacksonville retail store owner talks Phase 1 of re-opening in Florida

Jacksonville, Fla. — A local retail store owner is working to open her business during Florida’s Phase 1 of re-opening. “We’re doing our best to get back on our feet.”

Rula Carr is the owner of The Snob Luxury Consignment Shop. “We just want to protect our employees, ourselves and the people walk through the door,” Carr said.

Governor Ron DeSantis gave retail stores in Florida the green light to re-open their stores to customers Monday.

Action News Jax reporter Courtney Cole has been working to figure out how stores are handling the re-opening and what they’re doing to keep you safe.

She’s also talking to Action News Jax’s law and safety expert about your rights if you catch the coronavirus at a business. Watch Cole’s full story in the video above.

Quick Notes:

  • Phase 1 of re-opening in Florida began today, May 4.
  • Part of that re-opening phase gives retail stores the opportunity to re-open at 25% capacity.
  • This re-opening extends to all counties except Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
