JSO: Man attacked, shot by unknown suspect while visiting friend in Westside Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot while visiting a friend.

According to detectives, at around midnight, officers were called to a local hospital after a man was driven there with a gunshot wound. After interviewing the victim, it was revealed that he was visiting a friend on Timmerman Lane.

At some point, an unknown suspect approached and began hitting and shooting the victim. The victim’s friend transported him to the hospital.

The physical description and sex of the suspect are unknown, but detectives said that the suspect was wearing dark clothing.

Violent crime detectives are at the scene conducting an ongoing investigation.
