JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was hit and killed by a Fedex semi truck on Commonwealth Road after exiting a JTA bus Thursday night.
Police said the man who was killed exited the bus, walking in front of the bus to cross the road. After crossing into the street, the man was struck by the semi truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police described the man as a white male between 35 and 40 years old. Police said all parties involved are cooperating with investigators.
Police said the Commonwealth area will be closed until between 10 and 11 p.m.
