Motorcyclist dead after crash in Argyle Forest area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed a motorcyclist is dead after hitting an SUV on Argyle Forest on Tuesday night.

Police said at around 9 p.m. that they responded to a crash on Argyle Forest and Merchant Gate where they found an SUV and a motorcycle.

According to JSO, the motorcyclist ran a red light going west on Argyle Forest and crashed into a Hyundai Santa Fe that was turning left at the intersection. Police said the SUV had a green light and had the right of way.

The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.

JSO is continuing to investigate the crash.
