DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A church on Jacksonville’s Northside is a total loss following an early morning fire Monday, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
Firefighters responded to the situation just before 2 a.m. at the St. Demiana Coptic Orthodox Church on Bernard Road.
Crews said no one was inside the church at the time of the fire and there are no injuries reported.
The state fire marshal said the fire is not considered suspicious at this time, but that could change as the investigation continues.
A cause of the fire has not been announced.
