Man shot, killed at hotel near JTB in Jacksonville, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is working to learn what happened at a hotel room that led to a deadly shooting overnight.

Police are investigating at the Hometown Inn and Suites on Mustang Road -- not far from J. Turner Butler Boulevard and Philips Highway.

An investigator told Action News Jax a man was found shot to death in a hotel room on the third floor.

At least five bullet holes can be seen inside the room’s window.

JSO said they were called out to the hotel around midnight after receiving reports of gunfire.

When they arrived, they found the man, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, dead inside the room.

There was obvious signs of foul play, according to police.

Police are working to learn his identity. There is no suspect description at this time and police do not have any witnesses.
