Even worse, Hunt believes the two turtles were shot to death.
“It looked like somebody had shot them in the head with a small caliber weapon and laid them out for display,” he said.
Hunt said his day at Gilligan’s Island with his wife and daughter was cut short.

“Not a pleasant day at all,” Hunt said.
Hunt said he reached out to Georgia Wildlife and Game, and was told there’s nothing they can do.
“He said to put them back in the water and let nature take its course with them,” he said.
According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, freshwater turtles are not protected in Georgia, “because of their status as a nuisance or other reason.”
“I wish we could protect all of the animals, not just some of them,” Hunt said.
Hunt said while there’s nothing GWG can do, he was told rangers will be monitoring the lake more often.
