Teen killed in Nassau County crash

Iulia Pugachev was issued a notice to appear for criminal violations of operating a motor vehicle with no registration, imitation of a Florida Highway Patrol unit and misuse of a dealer license plate.

Bryceville, Fla. — A 17-year-old girl from Bryceville was killed Sunday night in a crash on County Road 121 at Batten Road.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the SUV she was driving collided with a pickup truck that veered into her lane.

The driver of the pickup was a 16-year-old boy from Bryceville. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The girl was pronounced dead on the scene.

The names of the people involved have not been released.

Note: We previously reported that the victim was 16 years old and that the crash happened Sunday morning. The Florida Highway Patrol sent us an updated news release correcting the time of the accident and the age of the victim.
