McCurdy’s family recently decorated his cemetery plot for Easter.
This is the family of faith's first Easter without him.
“I still can’t believe it,” said his mother, Fay McCurdy. “I’ve seen him lying in that casket, and I kissed him all over, rubbed his little hands. It just still doesn’t seem real, but I know it is.”

Family members said McCurdy, who was a construction worker at Mayport and a former high school wrestler, was found on Featherwood Drive South.
“It looks like it may have been done somewhere else and then his body was dumped at the site there in Mayport,” said Dylan McCurdy’s father, Bruce McCurdy Sr. “They do have several persons of interest at this time.”
