JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Local veterans started a new type of boot camp, Wednesday.

“His stories had an impression on me, and, so I said I’m going to do this," Blair told Action News Jax,

Now, 22 years later, the retired sailor said he isn’t as sure about his next career move.
“Spending so long in the military, you are very, I guess … the right word to say is … focused on the military. Beyond that, the blinders come off, so the opportunities are limitless," Blair explained.
He admitted the struggles of transitioning to a civilian lifestyle are something he shares with other local veterans.
The Wounded Warrior Project and Deliotte teamed up to get former military members out in the workforce.

It’s the first employment boot camp in Jacksonville.
The program teaches resume writing, interview skills and elevator pitches.
A course leader said the boot camp has already helped veterans across the country land jobs.
“They’re helping warriors who are transitioning, finding new careers, getting all those skills ready to enter the new world for them," said Kevin Rasch, with Wounded Warrior Project.
Blair said it has him looking forward to the future.
“Oh, amazing things, oh my God, limitless. Wounded Warrior Project has actually helped me see that,” he explained.
