The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has identified a teen and young man who were the first people killed in Duval County in 2017.
Family members say the teen and the young man were killed in a drive-by shooting in Springfield.
Police were still on the scene Monday afternoon where Kareem Hagan, 22, was shot and killed on East 18th Street on Sunday.
Marquis Marquez, 17, was also shot on East 18th Street Sunday. He was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries Sunday night.
The two are the first people killed in Jacksonville this year. In 2016, a total of 119 people were killed in Jacksonville.
Marquis’ family told Action News Jax off camera that the violence needs to stop. They said the teen liked football and aren't sure how he knew Hagan.
Police say the scene encompasses an entire block. They were first dispatched to East 18th Street Sunday afternoon.
They have spoken to several witnesses and have canvassed the neighborhood. As of Monday night, JSO has not announced an arrest in this case.
