Jacksonville sheriff: Officer arrested after running car tags at ex-girlfriend’s apartment complex

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A police officer was arrested and has resigned after he used a driver database for personal use, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said.

Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said Allen Lasage was arrested Thursday after an audit conducted on Monday found that Lasage used the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Driver And Vehicle Information Database (DAVID) for personal reasons.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office discovered Lasage used the database on April 13 to run the tags of 15 vehicles parked at an apartment complex where his ex-girlfriend lived, Waters said.

Lasage was not on duty and was not working in an off-duty capacity, Waters said.

Waters said Lasage is now facing a charge of offenses against computer users.

Lasage began his career with JSO on Sept. 30, 2017. Upon his arrest, he resigned from JSO and is no longer a police officer.

On Friday at 9 a.m., Lasage is scheduled to appear in court.
