BOSTON — Sometimes it's not where you go, but how you get there. I can't think of a better way to sum up this trip to London.
Due to some technical issues with my plane an hour layover in Boston turned into a day, and a chance to take in some of the sights in my first visit to Beantown.
Using some advice from friends I took a trip to downtown Boston to see some of the historic aspects of the city, including freedom trail and our nations oldest tavern.
Very cool to see how the harbor is so close to everything and so many buildings that are centuries old. Also I made a stop at Mike's Pastry and had what else, a Boston Creme Puff, it didn't disappoint!
After finding out about an even lengthier delay my schedule opened up drastically so the sports fan inside demanded a trip to Fenway.
Certainly a bucket list item for any sports fans and frankly I'll only count this as halfway checked off as I need to see a game there when the Red Sox are in season.
Still what a sight to behold, 102 years of history and certainly worth a look no matter what time of year.
Soon I'll be on my plane to London (hopefully) but first a trip to the TD Garden to see the Bruins play! As getting there goes, this is hard to beat.
