JSO: Fatal crash near Publix causes lane closures in Arlington

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating following a fatal crash in Arlington on Friday morning.

Action News Jax reporter Amber Krycka has a full report on CBS47 at 5:

Right now, a young woman is recovering following a crash that killed her boyfriend.

“All I could do is cry, and I’ve cried for about an hour and 30 minutes now,” said Warren Nobles, a friend of the victim.

Nobles looked out at the crash site where his friend took his last breath.

“The only way I could really find peace with it is to see the last place he was on this earth,” he said.

Police said around 5 a.m. Friday, a car traveling down Townsend Boulevard for some reason left the road and crashed.

The driver was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Nobles and family said he’s Logan Garris, 20, and his girlfriend was behind the wheel.

Garris’ brother told us he’s not getting a lot of information from police, other than there was some kind of argument before the crash.

“I just want everybody to know that he was a good guy,” said Nobles.

The death has inspired Nobles to change his own life.

“I look forward to being a better person, trying to be safer, trying to make better decisions and live in his name,” he said.
