Missing, endangered man found safe after 3-day search, Jacksonville police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — UPDATE, 1/12/2022, 4:36 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared the following update on its social media pages:

#JSO could not be more pleased to announce that Mr. Nonord has been found! He is awake and talking but is being transported to a local hospital for evaluation. We are extremely grateful to everyone who assisted in this search.”

Mr. Nonord was reportedly missing for nearly 3 days.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for 78-year-old Germilus Nonord. Mr. Nonord is described as a black male, 5′6″, 160 lbs, bald, with brown eyes.

He was last seen around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, on foot, in the 5700 block of Billmore Circle East wearing a green shirt and khaki pants.

It has been reported that Mr. Nonord is diagnosed with Dementia and speaks very little English.

JSO has asked residents on the Westside to look through their property’s surveillance video to see if he has been spotted. The residents who should be the most aware are the ones with agricultural land or if they are near it.

Since Mr. Nonord has been missing, he might have traveled a long distance from where he was originally seen.

Due to Mr. Nonord’s age and mental status, police are trying to locate him to ascertain his safety.
