CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A man is dead and the person suspected of killing him was released from the hospital Friday morning.
An argument over cleaning led to a man stabbing his roommate with a pocket knife in Catawba County Thursday night.
Deputies were at the Bethanny Church Road home in Claremont four hours before the stabbing after responding to a call.
Randall Head spoke to Channel 9 about the confrontation with his renter David Petrea.
Head said the two had gotten into an argument earlier when he asked Petrea to pick up after himself.
Head said he considered Petrea a friend, but said he had no choice but to defend himself after being attacked inside his own home.
Deputies said Head did call for help earlier wanting Petrea thrown out of his home, but deputies did not evict him because he was paying money to live there.
Investigators plan to forward their case to the district attorney.
