National female police officer day!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — If you see a female police officer today, be sure to give them a big shout out for ‘National Police Woman Day’. The Jacksonville Sheriffs Office reports that nationally, females account for only 12% of sworn law enforcement officers.

The goal of National Police Woman Day is to encourage more women to join the service, and express gratitude to the female officers that dedicate so much to their roles.

Campaigns and other events are organized to urge more women to join roles in law enforcement and create dreams of a future where law enforcement bodies will have stronger female representation.
