CLAY COUNTY — A Middleburg gas station celebrated its grand opening Friday by offering discounted gas.
The new 76 gas station on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway is advertising its fuel for $3.76 a gallon.
Action News Jax spoke with drivers who lined up to take advantage of the deal, with many waiting in line for hours to fill up their cars.
“I was excited to get her this morning and try to get here and get some gas,” Terrance Singleton told reporter Nick Gibson. “I actually came early I was here at seven something and they weren’t accepting cards so I kind of drove around,” says Singleton
Right now, gas is averaging $4.92 a gallon, according to AAA. In Florida, the average price is $4.72 cents a gallon.
“A dollar is better than nothing right? So I’m just trying to get as much gas as I possibly can. I’ve got three vehicles at home. We have a generator and all of that stuff,” says Jose Lopez.
The gas will be offered at a discounted price until 5 p.m.
