Outback Steakhouse near Regency Square Mall reportedly closes, customers upset

People on social media are upset after an Outback Steakhouse in Jacksonville reportedly shut its doors.

Action News Jax received a tip Saturday that the restaurant located near the Regency Square Mall allegedly closed.

Elizabeth Watts, the director of media and community relations for Bloomin' Brands, said the closure was based on business circumstances and "has no reflection on team members."

Watts said that 90 percent of employees transferred to another restaurant and received severance pay.

Action News Jax called the restaurant and its voice-recording said that the steakhouse has permanently closed.
