A 14-year-old's body was recovered at Jacksonville Beach Monday, police said.
A passerby found the teen's body at approximately 6:30 a.m., police said. The teen went missing Sunday afternoon.
Jacksonville Beach lifeguards told Action News Jax they received a call at 1:50 p.m. about a swimmer in distress in the area near First Avenue south of Jacksonville Beach.
Rescue crews from Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach were called to help Jacksonville Fire Rescue and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office search for the swimmer.
Crews searched the water for several hours. The search was called off at 3:40 p.m.
Ocean rescue has performed 15 rescues Sunday.
