Police investigating undetermined death near CSX property in Downtown Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into an unidentified death near the CSX Corporation building in Downtown Jacksonville on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 12:40 p.m., officers were called to 500 Water St. regarding the incident.

Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a female near the waterway of the St. Johns River.

The investigation involves JSO Homicide detectives, Crime Scene Detectives, and the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Currently, the officers are working to determine the identity of the deceased, and no evidence of foul play has been found thus far.

The woman is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old, with no distinct tattoos or markings.

A passerby alerted CSX police upon finding the body while walking along the pathway.

The police are collaborating with missing person units to establish any potential connections.
