JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said Friday an investigation by its Narcotics Unit and other agencies culminated recently in an arrest of four men charged with selling drugs from the Price Rite Food Store on Moncrief Road.
Detectives had been investigating drug activity at store after receiving complaints from area residents about possible drug deals and suspicious activity, police said.
JSO officials said in a Facebook post they arrested 51-year-old Vanness Pryor, 26-year-old Breon Rooker, 34-year-old Tyqess Johnson, and 58-year-old Walid Makhlouf.
As a result of an investigation launched in January, detectives identified the main dealers and the store clerk as those responsible for the drug activity.
Police said execution of search warrant September 2 yielded 1.8 grams of fentanyl, 16.5 grams of crack cocaine, 6.6 grams of marijuana, a handgun, and more than $3,000 in cash
JSO said they worked with the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, the Fire Marshal, and Code Enforcement to shut the drug business down.
