CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County neighbors came out to a public meeting on Tuesday night to have their voices heard about a new set of ordinances that would let so-called adult shops operate.
The three proposals outline what’s legal and what’s not and dictate where sexually oriented businesses can set up shop
Some county leaders wanted to ban adult shops earlier this year but were advised that might open the county up to lawsuits on constitutional grounds.
Despite that, many folks stand against those shops.
“I always thought Clay County was like a really family oriented county and that takes away from it,” said Leon Brown.
Action News has calls in to learn if the ordinances passed. If they do, they will go before the county commission later this month.
