The rider of a blue Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle has died after hitting a van early Thursday morning in Putnam County.
Troopers said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on US-17 while a white van was stopped at the stop sign on North Boundry Road.
The van was trying to cross over the northbound lanes of US-17 to get to the southbound lanes when the motorcycle crashed into the van, the Florida Highway Patrol report states.

The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old Crescent City man, was thrown from the motorcycle. He was taken to Putnam Community Medical Center where he died.
His identity has not been released at this time.
The driver of the van was not hurt.
All northbound lanes of US-17 at North Boundry Road remain closed as troopers continue their investigation.
