Diocese of St. Augustine implements mask policy for students before school resumes

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The Diocese of St. Augustine released a letter to families on Sunday stating the mask policy will be implemented for all diocese schools as students return for the second semester.

The decision was made due to the COVID-19 positivity rate exceeding 10% in all counties where diocese schools are located. Until that rate drops, masks will be required indoors at every school according to the letter.

Any changes to the mask policy will be shown on this website. It will be updated every Sunday.

Additionally, the quarantine and isolation policies have been reduced at Diocese schools.

Students ages five and over and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 should isolate for five days and wear a mask for five days upon returning to school.

Students and staff that have been exposed to COVID-19 and had the vaccine may return to school wearing a mask for ten days if they are asymptomatic.
