Police identify three people in connection with $3,000 worth of stolen wedding gifts

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Sherrie Krupa and Ricardo Nuñez couldn’t be happier to be married in one of the most romantic cities in the U.S.

Their reception was at the Columbia Restaurant on Dec. 14 and then the party continued into the night.

“After the wedding a couple people wanted to go out and dance so we went over to Dos Gatos and hung out there for a little bit,” said Krupa.

But that happiness quickly faded after realizing about $3,000 worth of their wedding gifts were stolen.

The St. Augustine Police Department said it has now identified three people seen on surveillance video.

According to police, a woman in black top and a man in a white shirt are seen walking and putting their coats down on a table. A short time later the woman is seen taking a bag.

Inside that bag were the wedding gifts.

“It’s been really heartbreaking for us because you know,” said Krupa. “We’re never going to get to read those cards.”

Police also want to speak with another man who is seen dancing with the couple but left separately.

Krupa said whoever is responsible stole more than just their money.

“It’s something that was sentimental to us so it’s more valuable than whatever, you know, money that people had given us as gifts,” said Krupa.

Last month’s wedding was a smaller more intimate celebration for the couple, they’re also planning on throwing a bigger wedding next year in St. Augustine. However, because of what happened they’re now questioning going back to St. Augustine.
