JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — University of North Florida police are investigating a fight at a party that ended with a basketball player punched in the face, and two people arrested.
They were in court Sunday to hear the felony charges against them.
Police say the party was at "The Flats" apartments off Kernan Boulevard.
Victor Terrance Bermudez, who is not a student, is charged with armed burglary, and resisting arrest.
UNF track student Darius Dondre Van Blount is charged with the same, along with battery.
According to UNF police, a school basketball player was on the balcony when an argument started, with the men below.
Officials say, Van Blount barged in and punched the player in the face, then Bermudez fired a gun in the air, before both ran off.
