22-year-old killed after falling from back of motorcycle on I-295 in Jacksonville

Police said Teal Starr, 22, fell off the back of a motorcycle on I-295 near Baymeadows on Saturday night.

Family and friends are mourning the loss of a 22-year-old who died after she fell from the back of a motorcycle on a Jacksonville highway.

Teal Starr of St. Johns County was riding on the back of a 2005 Yahama motorcycle driven by Kristopher Todd Mcanear, 23, when she fell off.

She may have been hit by a Nissan Altima after she fell onto the highway near Baymeadows Rd. just before midnight on Sunday.

Starr was taken to UF Health Jacksonville but died from her injuries.

"Teal was so loved by so many people," her mother told Action News Jax.

Friends told us she was very sweet and always smiling.

Many people posted photos and memories with her on Facebook.

Freeze warning in effect for Jacksonville Monday morning

Troopers said Mcanear and Starr were wearing helmets. Mcanear was not injured.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
