JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman's body was found after a mobile home fire early Friday morning.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Fire and Rescue Department responded around 2:40 a.m. in the 2800 block of Myrtis Road.
JFRD said there were no smoke detectors in the home.
Neighbor Celia Strobridge told Action News Jax that the victim is a mother of three, Sherese Briggs. Action News Jax is working to confirm the victim's identity with officials.
“She was always like a mommy figure to me everyone called her ma,” Strobridge said.
“You walk by and she would say how you doing, always so kind. A sweetheart,” said neighbor Hannah Hysmith.
The victim's sister told Action News Jax that she believes it was a grease fire. However, officials are still investigating what caused the fire.
