SAN ANTONIO — A man who was denied entry to a San Antonio bar Friday night opened fire with a rifle, injuring eight people, authorities said.
The incident happened in the parking lot of Rebar around 11:30 p.m., San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus told reporters. Five women and three men, ranging in age from 23 to 41, were injured, KSAT reported. There were no fatalities.

“They are all in stable condition, the most serious was someone was hit in the back,” McManus told reporters. He added that six of the victims drove themselves to area hospitals, while two people who were grazed refused treatment, WOAI reported.
The most serious injury was a bullet wound in the back, McManus told reporters.

McManus said the shooter was one of a group of people who were denied entry to the bar because they were intoxicated, KSAT reported. The man had been at another bar with a group of people, the television station reported.
The shooter said, “'don’t you know who I am? I’m a UFC fighter from California,'” McManus told reporters. “He walked back to his car, pulled out a long rifle, walked back across the street, and he opened fire."
Police are looking for the shooter, who fled the scene, WOAI reported. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage to help identify the shooter, KSAT reported.
