Anna Kendrick maintains sense of humor after being rescued from stuck elevator

TORONTO — Anna Kendrick managed to keep her sense of humor after getting stuck in an elevator on Sunday at the Toronto International Film Festival.

In a short Instagram video, the “Pitch Perfect” actress can be seen huddled with six others in a stuck elevator, cracking jokes about rationing food and water.

Kendrick can be seen in the video climbing up the rescue ladder, joking that she was glad she “didn’t wear a short skirt today.”

After exiting the elevator, Kendrick can be heard in the video thanking the Toronto Fire Department, “And I’m in love with every single one of you.”

According to People, everyone climbed out of the elevator safely.

Kendrick captioned the Instagram video with another joke.

“Ah, the classic ‘I’m behind schedule at this film festival because I had to be rescued from an elevator’ excuse”

When interviewed about the incident by Entertainment Tonight, Kendrick described the event as “very dramatic.”

“The second that the elevator like kerplunked it was like... well, obviously we’re not trapped in this elevator, that would be too crazy, that would be insane. I was in this absurdist comedy. Thank goodness, because otherwise, I would have been in a horror film about being trapped in an elevator forever,” she told ET.

Kendrick was in Toronto promoting her latest movie, “Alice, Darling,” which premiered Sunday at the film festival.
