D’Angelo Robinson Sr., 35, was arrested and charged with eight counts of aggravated assault, according to Muscogee County online booking records.

Police in Columbus were called to a Shell gas station at about 10:11 CST on Feb. 17, WSB-TV reported.

The victims, which included a 5-year-old boy, were taken to area hospitals with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

According to a news release from the Columbus Police Department on Friday, investigators spent the week following the shootings interviewing witnesses and analyzing evidence.

Investigators “were ultimately able to establish probable cause to issue arrest warrants for the two suspects.”

Columbus police characterized the accused juvenile suspect as “a validated gang member,” the news release stated. He has been charged with one count of aggravated assault, police said.

Officials said that more charges are pending.

During a news conference on Feb. 18, Columbus police Chief Freddie Blackmon said that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that occurred at a party near the gas station, WRBL-TV reported.
