New ’do: JoJo Siwa cuts off signature ponytail in favor of cropped style

JoJo Siwa debuted a new look on Instagram on Thursday, rocking a cropped, pixie-style haircut, People reported. Siwa, 18, had worn a high ponytail for years, and the former “Dance Moms” star and “Dancing With the Stars” contestant even sold themed bows for children, CNN reported.

Siwa, a singer, dancer and YouTube star, debuted her new short look on Instagram, captioning a selfie, “HAPPPPPY.”

“So I just got my hair cut yesterday,” Siwa said in a video posted to her Instagram Story, according to People. “And I went for a down and curly moment. But today, I went for an up and back moment, and I don’t know, the picture that I posted was from yesterday when it was down and kind of curled.

“But let me know what y’all think. I think I might be into the up and back. I mean, it’s gonna be different every day and I’m still learning how to do it. It’s way different than long hair, it’s crazy, but I’m obsessed!”

Siwa came out as LGBTQ in early 2021, an unprecedented move for a children’s entertainer, CNN reported. She recently completed her first nationwide tour, during which she wore a high ponytail and a rainbow-sequined bow, according to the news network.
