Perez Deshay Reed, 25, was charged Saturday by St. Louis County prosecutors with two September murders, including that of a 16-year-old girl, in the jurisdiction, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.

Federal and local authorities detailed in a Monday news conference that the spree spanned several weeks in September and October and stretched from St. Louis to Kansas City, Kansas, KSDK reported.

St. Louis police confirmed Monday they plan to seek charges against Reed for two fatal shootings in St. Louis, while federal prosecutors added a gun charge, and officials have said that Reed may also face additional charges connected to two Kansas City homicides, the Post-Dispatch reported.

According to the FBI, Reed was arrested Sunday with a gun used in six shootings, four of which were fatal. Multiple police sources confirmed to KSDK that the gun is a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol.

Authorities have not provided a motive for the shootings.
