MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A "flying car" crashed at the Dunnellon Airport, sending two people to the hospital, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said the homemade vehicle got off the ground but then crashed and caught fire.
Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration do not plan to respond, since the machine is not recognized as an aircraft.
The two people on board have minor injuries.
