Live updates: Taylor Williams' mom hospitalized after body found during search

Nov. 21, 2019: Day 16 in search for missing 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two sources tell Action News Jax Brianna Williams, the mother of missing Jacksonville girl Taylor Williams, has been moved from the hospital to the Duval County Jail.

Williams was taken to the hospital following an apparent overdose on Nov. 12, the same day police in Alabama said human remains were found in Alabama during the search for 5-year-old Taylor.

Nov. 14, 2019: Day 9 in search for missing 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams

Brianna Williams' bond is set at $1.1 million. If released on bond, she would be placed on GPS monitoring, according to a judge's order.

As of Thursday afternoon, Williams had not yet been booked into the Duval County Jail and was still being treated at a Jacksonville hospital for an apparent overdose.

Sheriff Williams said she was taken to the hospital in serious condition Tuesday, the same day the announcement about the discovery of human remains came out.

JSO said they had not yet informed her of the charges before she was taken to the hospital.

JSO said Wednesday they couldn't give an update on her condition but when she is moved, her housing status will be updated on her booking sheet.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for December 4.

Nov. 13, 2019: Day 8 in search for missing 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams

UF Health officials tell Action News Jax Brianna Williams, mother of missing 5-year-old Taylor Williams, is not in their system as a patient.

She was taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being found unresponsive on base at NAS Jax from an apparent overdose.

Duval County jail logs show that she is scheduled to make a court appearance at 1 p.m. Wednesday, but courthouse authorities say she is not scheduled to make an appearance.

The arrest warrant from the State Attorney's Office for Brianna Williams explains the charges against her in this case.

Brianna Williams is facing two counts of child neglect and one count of giving false information to law enforcement during the investigation, according to the warrant.

The child neglect charges stem from a witness statement. According to the warrant the witness lived in the neighborhood where the Williams lived. The witness said Taylor Williams was seen wandering around the complex alone multiple times. One time he walked her back to her apartment, made sure she got back inside and had her lock the door behind him. In the warrant, the witness told police that he noticed Taylor was left alone at least every other day.

The false statement charge is because, according to the warrant, Brianna Williams told police that her mother took care of Taylor through the month of October. Brianna Williams' mother told police that she has not seen Taylor since January.

8:50 P.M. UPDATE: First Coast Crime Stoppers announced it has increased the reward in the case for missing 5-year-old Taylor Williams to $4,000.

Action News Jax reporter Dani Bozzini spoke to a NAS JAX mother tonight who says 5-year-old Taylor Williams was in her son's child development center class on base. "The kids were in the same class all year long, so I had seen her basically every day until the last day of VPK."

She says that was on June 5 for their class graduation, which lines up with what JSO told us earlier today.

JSO confirmed that Taylor was enrolled at a day care on base in the spring.

The mother says that graduation ceremony was the last time she saw Taylor.

6:30 P.M. UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is working with another agency in a different state as it investigates the disappearance of Taylor Williams.

Brianna Williams, Taylor's mother, is from Alabama.

The Sheriff's Office said it is working with investigators in Alabama because Brianna Williams has family there.

While Sheriff Mike Williams said Brianna Williams is not cooperating in the investigation, some of her family members are. Some family members have come from out of town to speak with police.

6:00 P.M. UPDATE: JSO, JFRD and several other agencies and volunteers have searched various areas looking for 5-year-old Taylor Williams.

4:00 P.M. UPDATE: Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said Taylor's mother Brianna S. Williams is no longer being cooperative with the investigation.

Action News Jax has seen investigators at both search locations: Taylor's home on Ivy Street and on the Southside at the Southside Villas apartment complex where Taylor and her family recently moved from over the weekend.

The locations are 16 miles apart.

Pictures taken at the Southside location appear to show slippers police wore when they went inside an apartment looking for clues in disappearance of Taylor. Bags, including biohazard bags were seen outside one of the apartments.

The city of Jacksonville said more than 100 police officers, firefighters, search dogs, dive teams, mounted police, drone units and volunteers are assisting to help find her.

Nov. 6, 2019: Day 1 in search for missing 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams

An Amber Alert has been issued for missing 5-year-old Taylor Rose Williams out of Jacksonville, Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Police say she was last seen in her bedroom at her home around 12 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Ivy Street in the Brentwood area.

Action News Jax obtained the missing persons report filed with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in Taylor's disappearance.

Taylor's mother, Brianna S. Williams, who we have confirmed is a Petty Officer 1st Class at NAS Jacksonville, told police she put Taylor to bed around midnight. Williams told police when she woke up at 7 a.m., she did not see Taylor in her bedroom and the back door was unlocked.

Taylor was last seen wearing a purple shirt and pink pajama pants. She is 3 feet tall and weighs 50 pounds. If you see her or know of her whereabouts, you are asked to call police at 904-630-0500.

In a briefing, police said they expanded their search and manpower to include over 100 officers and have asked for help from other agencies, including the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

Officers have been going door-to-door in the Brentwood neighborhood and have a helicopter to get an aerial view to aid in the massive search.

At 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, police confirmed with Action News Jax that they've expanded their search to Southside Villas, an apartment complex on Southside Boulevard, in relation to the search for the missing girl.

Taylor used to live in the complex with her family and the Sheriff's Office said she's familiar with the area. JSO set up a mobile command center in the Southside neighborhood where they are searching for Taylor Williams.

Around 3:25 p.m, crews with the JSO Dive Team arrived at the Southside location, as well as two JSO trucks, a small boat and ATV/tractor type vehicle. We saw them searching nearby water in the area for Taylor.

At 4 p.m., Sky Action News Jax spotted a dumpster being transported from the Southside Villas apartment complex. The dumpster was followed to Superior Enterprise of Jax, Inc., where the contents were emptied.

The search for Taylor continued into the night. When asked if Taylor's mom Brianna S. Williams is a person of interest in the girl's disappearance, JSO Chief T.K. Waters said Williams is "downtown as a mother that's concerned for her daughter."

Law and Safety Expert Dale Carson said the first 12 hours are critical when searching for a child, in a situation like this, because evidence can disappear in a 12-hour period and clues could be lost that can help find them.

Action News Jax spoke to the missing child's great-grandmother who told us the family is "torn up" over Taylor's disappearance.

It didn't take long for the community to step up and help in the search for Taylor. We came across volunteers, including a man from Folkston, Georgia, who just want to see Taylor come home.
