ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Now that Hurricane Dorian has passed Northeast Florida, homeowners are left with beach erosion along the coast and some flood damage in local neighborhoods.
During high tide Wednesday, standing water reached 4 feet in Davis Shores. This is one of the lowest points in St. Augustine, which means flooding is a major concern during any major storm.
Coquina Avenue had the deepest standing water. Wednesday, Action News Jax found people surfing and canoeing in the water.
Most of the standing water cleared the streets by 6 p.m. Wednesday. Different properties had flooded grass.
Thursday, homeowners who evacuated the storms returned home to some flood damage.

One man, who asked to remain off camera, showed Action News Jax a water line 16 inches from the ground Thursday.
There were no reported injuries or major damage from debris.
"Water breached but it was a slow trickle," homeowner Eric Robert said. "So we got a couple inches compared to the water that was outside of the house."
St. Augustine firefighters patrolled the neighborhood. Some crews were passing out cleaning supplies for homes with damage.
