Jacksonville family’s stolen show dog found during Ga. drug bust

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A local family headed to Georgia to be reunited with their beloved prize-winning show dog, Crayola, Friday, which was stolen from a gas station weeks ago.

Video captured at a Georgia police station shows the American Bully seeing a familiar face for the first time in weeks.

The award-winning dog was stolen along with a French bulldog in her owner’s car from a Georgia gas station in early December.

“It’s scary. All those thoughts go through your head, ‘Could she be hurt? Is she still alive?’” Thomas Hall, a friend of the dog’s owner, said.

Hall explained he would be keeping the dog until Crayola’s family can fly to the Atlanta area from Jacksonville.

The family bought back their Frenchie over the Cash App a few days after the theft.

It took a drug and gun bust at a home in Clayton County, Georgia to get the American bully.

Sgt. Jubal Rogers with the South Fulton Police Department explained, “The investigation has been going on for several months. We received tips from the community in reference to the gang and narcotics activity in the South Fulton area.”

Investigators said they have at least 5 people in custody.

Police said they found 20 guns, illegal drugs, cash, a stolen car and most importantly – Crayola.

Crayola’s owners sent Action News Jax a video that was on of their first glimpses of the prestigious pup in almost a month.

Friday, they said they were headed to Georgia to bring her back to where she belongs.

“I heard when they showed her the picture, she’s like, ‘That’s her! That’s her!’” Hall said.

The family told Rousseau they didn’t want to speak on camera until they were reunited with Crayola.
