Northside and Westside testing sites close, but relief is on the way

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The federally run testing sites at First Coast High School and Frank H. Peterson will permanently close at 6 P.M. on Friday.

Action News Jax reporter Meghan Moriarty reached out to the city of Jacksonville and received this response to the closing. A spokesperson assured that something will be replacing it. The email said “Three more will open very soon and will help serve those areas. We are not ready just yet to formally announce the locations.”

Lot J testing at TIAA Bank Field closed on Wednesday permanently but relocated to the Regency Square Mall in Arlington. You can get tested there between 8 A.M. and 6 P.M.

There will also now be a symptomatic line at the Regency COVID-19 testing site. Those who identify themselves as symptomatic to the nursing staff on-site will be prioritized for quicker results.

New city-run testing sites are open in East Arlington at Ed Austin Park from Monday through Wednesday 7 A.M. to 3 P.M. and at the Beaches at the old K-Mart on Atlantic Blvd. That site is open Thursday through Saturday 7 A.M. to 3 P.M. There is also a site at the Mandarin Senior Center. These tests are all free of charge.
