JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are looking for two men who pistol whipped two employees while robbing them at a Cedar Hills Wing Stop restaurant.
Action News Jax spoke to a customer who was held at gunpoint and forced to the ground.
Shawn Githens said he stopped at the restaurant for a late night snack and in a matter of minutes, he said he realized he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"I thought it was a joke at first (when the men) came busting in saying ‘get on the floor, get on the floor,’” Githens said.
Githens said he then saw they were armed.
“He puts a gun to the back of my head and puts me on the ground and then there was a lot of scuffling in the back,” Githens said.
According to a police report from JSO, two of the Wing Stop employees were pistol whipped.
“It took them a good five minutes. I mean the dude in the back was pretty adamant about wanting to see the safe, but the employees they didn't know anything about it so he just got pistol whipped a few times,” Githens said.
Githens and another customer had their iPhones stolen. Githens said it was hard to see the two men because he was face down on the ground.
“I mean, they were dressed in all black, neoprene facemasks. One of the gentleman had a small .380 silver with a wood handle grip, the other man had a Glock nine. But there's nothing that I could see you as far as descriptive,” Githens said.
He said the suspects were black and both about 6 feet 2 or 6 feet 3 inches tall.
