A Florida man stole a mail carrier truck from Holly Hill in Volusia County and led police on a pursuit on I-95 around 4:30 p.m. Saturday , according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office notified FCSO when 29-year-old Jesse Estep was reportedly driving a stolen white mail truck north on I-95 into their county.

FCSO located the mail truck and took over the pursuit. Deputies left their patrol cars to lay out stop sticks to attempt to slow and stop the vehicle.

According to FCSO, the suspect intentionally swerved and drove the mail truck directly toward the deputy. Estep missed the deputy and swerved the trick toward a different FCSO deputy who was attempting to lay out more stop sticks.

Then, when the back tire of the truck struck a stop stick and the suspect lost control of the mail carrier. The suspect overcorrected, causing the truck to crash into a guardrail and flip.

The man is being charged with two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, grand theft of a motor vehicle, burglary conveyance, aggravated fleeing with injury or damage, resisting arrest and criminal use of personal identification (mail).
