The Florida Department of Health reported 17,192 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, making it the largest number of cases reported in a single day since the pandemic began.
Of the new cases, 1,709 were reported in Northeast Florida.
As of Thursday, there have been 1,323,315 cases of the virus reported in Florida.
The state on Thursday also reported 133 additional COVID-19-related deaths, bringing the state’s death toll of residents and nonresidents to 21,990.
Of the most recent COVID-19-related deaths, 3 were reported in Northeast Florida, including two in Clay County and one in St. Johns.
Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and Union counties reported no deaths.
