JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Pet lovers, here’s your chance to get a new furry pal this holiday season. The pet adoption fee will be waived at the Jacksonville Humane Society during Black Friday weekend from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
Typically, it costs between $50 to $75 to adopt a cat and $50 to $125 to adopt a dog at JHS.
The animal shelter said there are hundreds of dogs and cats that are available at the JHS Adoption, Education & Pet Help Center at 8464 Beach Boulevard.
"Black Friday is all about savings. Why not save a life this season instead?" CEO Denise Deisler said. "The holidays are a great time to add a new member to the family."
The community can also adopt a pet for free at Animal Care and Protective Services, located at 2020 Forest Street, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
Adoption hours at JHS are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Additional fees may apply, according to JHS. For more information, please call 904-724-8766.
