Georgia Arbor Day: Plant for a Better Tomorrow!

Georgia Arbor Day — Spring is around the corner! It is that time of year we celebrate the beauty, functionality, and value trees have on our daily lives.

National Arbor Day is the last Friday of April. This year it is on April 29.

Each state has it’s own Arbor Day based on the best time to plant trees!

Florida’s Arbor Day is the third Friday in January. Georgia’s is the third Friday in February.

Notice the higher the latitude, the later in Spring we go!

The first Arbor Day was celebrated in 1872 and over a century later communities continue to plant for a better tomorrow!

If you would like to participate in local events: St. Mary’s Arbor Day is at 2 pm at Orange Hall. There will be a contactless, socially distanced event for Woodbine at City Hall.

Saturday: Southern Forest World’s Arbor Day is from 9 am to 2 pm in Waycross, Ga. At the event they are giving away free trees!
