Jacksonville-area coronavirus updates: Phase II of reopening Florida to begin Friday, governor says

NORTHEAST FLORIDA, SOUTHEAST GEORGIA — More than 56,000 people in Florida and 47,000 people in Georgia have been infected with COVID-19, and the number of deaths from the outbreak continues to rise. Officials are attempting to contain the coronavirus outbreak in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

Phase II of reopening Florida to begin Friday, governor says

June 3 12:35 P.M.: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced that phase II of reopening Florida will begin Friday.

During phase II, bars and pubs will be permitted to operate at 50% capacity, and retail stores and gyms will be able to operate at 100%, according to DeSantis.

Testing for COVID-19 available at UF Health site

June 3: If you would like to be tested for COVID-19 in Jacksonville, there is a location available from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or until testing materials last at 3101-3 Justina Road.
