JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Humane Society is holding its 28th Annual Toast to the Animals fundraising at 6 p.m. Friday at the Jessie in downtown Jacksonville. Proceeds from the gathering will benefit the organization’s medical fund, which pays for treatment for shelter animals suffering from illness or injury.
The annual event brings together local leaders and supporters to raise financial support for pets in need. During the event, the shelter will honor Auld CEO Nathaniel Marty & White Constructors, recognizing the impact he and his company have made on the shelter.
The event will feature small plates and desserts from more than a dozen local restaurants, along with wine, beer, music and silent and live auctions. Community members supported by the shelter will share personal stories and a featured pet will be presented during the program. Pets are not permitted at the venue, with the exception of trained service animals.
Jacksonville Humane Society CEO Lawrence Nicolas emphasized the community’s role in supporting the shelter’s medical operations and overall mission.
“Every year, Toast to the Animals reminds us what an incredible difference our community can make when we come together for pets in need,” Nicolas said. “Last year, we cared for nearly 11,000 animals and that lifesaving work is only possible because of the generosity of our supporters. We look forward to celebrating with everyone on Oct. 2 as we raise critical funds to help even more animals receive the care they deserve.”
Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased here, by phone at 904-493-4585 or in person at the Jacksonville Humane Society facility at 8464 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville.
