JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Deputies from Alachua County shot and killed a man from Duval County during a SWAT standoff.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon outside a home on NW 10th Street in Gilchrist County near Bell, Florida.

Investigators said 26-year-old Donald Stankovich refused to come out of his home and threatened deputies if they approached the house.  He had active warrants out of Duval County for aggravated battery.

The Alachua County SWAT team and a robot responded to the scene.

Investigators said Stankovich fired a gun several times while inside the home.
