Jacksonville man wins $18 million in lawsuit against Pete's Bar

Pete's Bar

A man seriously injured during a fight at Pete's Bar in Neptune Beach has been awarded more than $18 million.

The newly released document filed in the Duval County Circuit Court details Joshua Mathews' settlement.

It said that Mathews was at the bar in 2012 when a fight broke out.

He was reportedly punched in the face, and his attorney said Mathews' head hit the ground, which left him with a brain injury.

The document reported that the bar failed to provide adequate security guards. The document also said that the bar failed to train and supervise bouncers.
